Who are we:

Susana

Originally from Argentina, Susana brings extensive experience in business finance, administration and training, mixed with her passion for education, personal development and the arts Susana provides unique qualities that have assisted many professionally and personally.

John

John has over 25-years experience in the visual arts and heritage sectors as an educator, curator and manager. John is committed to creative story-telling and artist development, he has developed and managed innovative and award winning community, gallery and museum programs and projects and designed and developed exhibitions for regional, state and national facilities.

The Gold Coast team organised an excellent opening event which included an artist and curator Panel Discussion lead by Jeff McMullen and a concert in The Basement by Neil Murray.

Whats happening:

In November 2014 Blue Sky View was commissioned by the Bundaberg Regional Council to undertake an Operational and Program Review of the region’s public galleries.

The Review provides benchmarking research and recommendations to assit the Team develop and deliver the Gallery programs.

John has been invited to speak about the Makeway Lab project at a Pecha Kucha event on February on the Sunshine Coast.


Key interpretative and public art components of Brisbane Showgrounds, Living History Program were installed in King Street Brisbane for Lend Lease and the RNA

November 2015

Blue Sky View and the The University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) were announced the Winners for 2015 Gallery and Museum Achievement Awards (GAMAA) for East Coast Encounter.

June 2015

Blue Sky View was selected by the City of Gold Coast to provide curatorial and museum management advice for Surf World, Gold Coast.

Blue Sky View will work to catalogue the collection, improve the current display, provide administrative advice and a plan for the potential relocation of the Museum to a beach-side location.

Our work starts in June.

May 2015

This month BSV has three exhibitions on show.

East Coast Encounter at the Gold Coast City Gallery; Far From This Land at Landsborough Museum; and From Here and There at Noosa Regional Gallery.

February 2015

In late 2014 the State Library of Queensland contracted John Waldron as Co-ordinator/Reviewer for the Connected Collections Project. This project offered a series of workshops to build community museum skills for the digitisation of Queensland heritage material, and to help make Queensland’s digitised heritage content more discoverable and engaging online.

February 2015

BSV has prepared a Curatorial Statement and Curatorial Plan for Brisbane Showgrounds, Living History Program. These documents have been adopted by Lend Lease and the RNA for the King Street development.

August 2014

The ASSI 150 SEQ commemorative program, has won the Silver 2014 National Trust Queensland Heritage Award!

From Here and There

From Here and There opened at the Noosa Regional Gallery on the 8 May 2015.

Co Curator Imelda Miller attended the launch and spoke of the importance of encouraging ASSI artists to explore their heritage and culture.

The exhibition remains open until 7 June 2015

Museums & Galleries Queensland (M&G QLD) announced the Winners of the 2015 Gallery and Museum Achievement Awards (GAMAA) at a gala event at The University of Queensland on19 November 2015.

The University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) and Blue Sky View, were announced the Winners for their outstanding achievement in the category of ‘Projects: Organisations with Paid Staff’ for the project East Coast Encounter.

In awarding USC and Blue Sky View the Winners of this category, the judges recognised the significance of this exhibition and the passion of the co-curators in bringing this unique project to life.
